Paws and Tails - Part 2

 Sadie quietly followed Ash, keeping her head low. She still couldn't understand it; why was she a wolf? She hated wolves. They were evil and vicious, and wouldn't hesitate to sink their teeth into human flesh...

"Hey! We're here."

 Sadie was jolted from her thoughts by Ash's bark. She looked up, and saw a huge cave, opening like a giant mouth, ready to swallow them. Sadie shuddered slightly. Ash noticed, then smiled.

 "Don't worry; there's nothing in here, except for some bugs. I hope you don't mind spiders!"

 Sadie felt like she was going to faint. Why spiders? Of all the bugs, why spiders? Is this a punishment for something I did? Whatever it is, I'm sorry!

 Ash led her into the cave, and Sadie could actually feel the temperature rise to a comfortable level. She relaxed a bit, letting her mind wander.

 I wonder where we'll sleep. Where will we bathe? I don't even have a toothbrush!

  Sadie was led into a cavernous room, filled with stalagmites and little wolf-sized crevices. Ash led her to one on the far right, and ushered her inside. It was much more roomy than it looked outside; plenty of space to move, a small bed of straw in the far right corner, a little waterfall from which to drink, and a small dip in the rock floor, where food was most likely put, like a dog food bowl. Sadie was impressed.

  "Did you make this?"

 "Oh, no. You can thank Mother Nature for this!"

   Sadie looked at Ash, then back at her 'quarters.' Mother Nature sure was powerful. Ash spoke up again.

  "Well, I'll be heading off to sleep. If you need me, I'm in the first crevice to your left. Goodnight!"

   Ash soon left, leaving Sadie with her thoughts. However, Sadie could barely think; she had been thinking so much that it hurt. With a sigh of surrender, Sadie trudged over and relaxed into the -surprisingly comfy- leaf bed. She closed her mismatched eyes, and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
